How to log your CPD?

You will receive a certificate of attendance for the 1 day symposium.  This certificate is a good document to show evidence of the CPD activity but it is your responsibility to keep a log of CPD activities that records the following details about this CPD activity including:

·        Date it was completed

·        Description of the activity

·        Category

·        Number of CPD hours claimed, and  goal achieved.

Here are just some suggestions for optimising your CPD hours:

Attending the symposium could be logged towards Category I. Professional development (maximum 10 hours).  Remember that you can only log a maximum 10 hours in this category towards your annual requirement but attending this symposium may also be logged for your minimum of five hours of your CPD being in an interactive setting with other practitioners which includes using technologies that enable interaction such as Skype or videoconferencing.  Get involved with our interactive Q&A!

After the symposium, you might take advantage of being able to access the recordings and be able to add quality CPD hours in Category III. Practice management – quality improvement activities and reflective practice (maximum 10 hours) Did you watch a session or workshop that inspires you to reflect on how to improve your practice by implementing outcomes of learning and quality improvement? – Make sure you record your plan improvements and further research.

Category IV. Self-directed learning (maximum 10 hours) Maybe you could not see everything over the Conference weekend – life happens!  Find a session you did not attend; watch, take notes, relate it to your practice and do some further research.

Lastly keep your documentation for at least 5 years, in case of an audit by AHPRA
