Children challenged by pain: Embedding pain science education into clinical practice 

PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION: 
Unravel the complexity of paediatric pain with Dr Joshua Pate, PhD in this workshop. There will be an opportunity to explore the latest in targeted pain science education and consider broader pain-related influences within families and schools. This presentation also includes a live Q&A.

BIO:
Dr Joshua Pate is a physiotherapy lecturer who worked as a senior physiotherapist at Westmead Hospital Pain Management Centre throughout his PhD. Joshua’s research has specifically investigated a child’s concept of pain, and he is interested in better understanding the mechanisms behind pain and functional outcomes for people suffering with persistent pain. He is also excited to be involved in educational resource development, working with TED-Ed to author brief online animations targeted for students, patients and the general public.
