Dr Tehan has published extensively in the field of non-invasive vascular assessment and diabetes including reliability and accuracy studies on Doppler, ankle brachial pressure indices, toe systolic pressures and toe-brachial pressure indices.
Peter Malliaras is a physiotherapist and researcher from Melbourne, Australia specializing in tendinopathy. In 2006 he completed his PhD in tendinopathy identifying novel risk factors, and since has undertaken post doctoral research in the UK and Australia, and has co-authored over 100 peer review publications.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor at Monash University Physiotherapy Department and involved in multiple funded tendinopathy research projects in Australia and internationally. His research focuses on understanding pain and neuromuscular impairments, and clinical trials testing the efficacy of exercise and other interventions in tendinopathy. Peter maintains a strong clinical focus, specializing in difficult tendinopathy cases and regularly consults to elite athletes.
Dr. Perrin is Senior Lecturer within the Department of the Rural Health Sciences of the La Trobe Rural Health School, La Trobe University and Chair of Diabetes Feet Australia. From a clinical foundation of managing a high-risk foot service in a major regional hospital, he continues to devote his research and advocacy activities to the prevention of lower limb amputation in people with diabetes. He has undertaken research investigating the scope of diabetes-related foot disease (DFD) in regional Australia, the psychological and behavioural aspects of DFD and more recently the use of technology to assist with the prevention of DFD. The aim of the future research of Dr. Perrin is to develop effective interventions to prevent DFD in at-risk people with diabetes.

Plantar pressure systems for DF management is yet another piece of technology for the DF tool kit. Pedorthotist David Sutton will be demonstrating the F-Scan system from Tekscan and how podiatrists use the data to develop off loading designs and features for both footwear and orthoses to support the management of diabetic foot. This demonstration will include case studies. You can read more about how podiatrists are using the F-Scan system for offloading of plantar foot ulcers here.
