This presentation will aim to set the scene for the current advocacy opportunities for the Profession of Podiatry by highlighting data around burden of disease, health expenditure, policy levers, current budget announcements and health workforce.

Dan Miles is currently the Policy and Advocacy Manager at the APodA. He has a background as a Physiotherapist and worked clinically in a wide range of settings but mainly in private practice in MSK / Sports. He has also worked within the Commonwealth, Program Management within the Medicare Locals (yes the previous version of PHNs), he has worked within the Compensable system and also at Medibank in the ADF health services contract. Dan has a Masters of Public Health and a strong passion for playing his part in improving population health outcomes.
