Debbie Turner

Dr Debbie Turner is a Professor in Podiatry at Queensland University of Technology.  She is an experienced podiatrist with an extended scope of practice including diagnostic ultrasound imaging, injection therapy, clinical gait analysis and a clinical specialist interest in rheumatology and diabetes.  She has worked as a clinical specialist podiatrist previously in world leading centres for rheumatology research including Leeds and Glasgow in the UK. Debbie  has demonstrable evidence of Academic Leadership, related to the management of both under-graduate and post-graduate allied health programs, in both the UK and Australia.  Since gaining a prestigious Academic Fellowship in 2007 with Arthritis Research UK, she has made a significant contribution to both the development of capacity and capability in the areas of advanced podiatric practice (gait analysis, diagnostic imaging, injection therapy) and research.  She has sat on a number of UK national panels as a clinical expert to help shape the research agenda and funding priorities, the formulation of national guidelines and made a contribution to nationally recognised education programs and was a co-founder of the Scottish Rheumatology Ultrasound Group.  She has a good international standing within the field of podiatry and was invited to become a Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine and General Practice in 2008.
