Geoffrey Dowling Graduated with a Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2010 after graduating he realised that his passion was in problems associated with the foot, ankle and lower limb. Workshop: An Introduction to ultrasounding the foot and ankle.

This will be an introduction o ultrasound scanning and how it will be beneficial for your practice. We will run through scanning some common structures including the achilles and plantarfascia and skin with a strong emphasis on getting hands on with scanners in the workshop.

Biography

Geoffrey Dowling Graduated with a Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2010 after graduating he realised that his passion was in problems associated with the foot, ankle and lower limb. 

He then completed a Masters in Podiatry publishing a systematic review that investigated foot function and its risk to lower limb overuse injury. Dynamic foot function as a risk factor for lower limb overuse injury: a systematic review 

After graduating Geoff has spent a number of years with the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon Mr William Edwards where he assisted fellow Orthotist Paul Retschko with post operatively managing patients as well as conservatively managing foot and ankle problems that were unable to be successfully managed elsewhere. 

In addition to his Orthotic and Podiatry degrees, Geoff has also completed further study with a certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and has been using this in his practice for diagnostic purposes and for interventional procedures. 

He has also spent the last 3 years designing and testing an orthotic which is  called Modulign.
