Kade Paterson

Dr Kade Paterson is a NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow and a Dame Kate Campbell Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne. Kade is also a Certified Sports Podiatrist, Vice President and executive board member for Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia, is on the Victorian Council for Sports Medicine Australia, and is a Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation.
Kade is a national and emerging international leader in the field of walking and running biomechanics, with particular expertise in the clinical and biomechanical effects of foot-based interventions for musculoskeletal conditions such as knee and foot osteoarthritis.

He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, is a co-author of a biomechanics textbook and has presented at >30 national and international conferences. Kade has attracted $2M in research funding, including a Project Grant and an Emerging Leadership Grant from the NHMRC, Linkage Grants from the ARC, as well as industry grants. He is an editorial board member for two international journals and is an inaugural steering committee member for the International Foot and Ankle Osteoarthritis Consortium.
