In this presentation, I will give a brief overview of the various funding agencies available to clinicians, clients and participants in NSW. Dealing with the NDIS, My Aged Care, DVA, EnableNSW and even health funds and Medicare can be a daunting prospect for small business owners and sole practitioners alike. By working within the system and allocating your resources correctly, it is possible to provide best-practice treatment to your clients whilst not sacrificing your bottom line.
Is there one particular angle in your presentation that you are most excited about sharing with podiatrists at this event. If so, what is it and why?
Dispelling myths of the NDIS accreditation process and making practitioners aware of the EnableNSW funding process. Advocating for clear and concise report writing, relating proposed interventions directly to the client's needs and goals highlighting how the proposed treatment/ assistive technology will make a real-world difference.
What do you wish more podiatrists understood about the topic you will cover?
By understanding the available funding bodies Podiatrists can provide the gold standard of care for clients without having to worry about the individual cost constraints of the patient. By working with funding agencies, plan managers and fellow health practitioners you can design a patient-first approach for the client without compromise.
